Last night, Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at the 24th British GQ Men of the Year Awards.

He was there virtually to honour the work of Professor Dame Sarah Gilbert, Dr. Catherine Green, and the entire Oxford Team. They worked on developing a life-saving Covid-19 vaccine.

A link to the full speech can be found below:

But why was Prince Harry chosen to virtually present the final award of the evening?

Since the information has not been disclosed, the best guess as to why Prince Harry was chosen would be based on his work.

In May 2021, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, were Campaign Chairs of Global Citizen’s VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World.

During the concert Prince Harry stated:

“The vaccine must be distributed to everyone, everywhere. We cannot rest or truly recover until there is fair distribution to every corner of the world. None of us should be comfortable with thinking that we can be fine when so many others are suffering. In reality, and especially with this pandemic, when any suffer, we all suffer.”

Based on Prince Harry’s commitment, it would come as no surprise that he would asked to present this award.

But also keep this in mind.

Royal reporters have tried, and failed, to make the case that there are similarities between Prince Harry and Edward VIII, the Former King of the United Kingdom.

Edward was a former King that abdicated his role, left the UK, travelled, lived his remaining days in retirement, and died in 1972.

There is no comparison to Prince Harry.

Prince Harry has dedicated his life to protecting his wife and children and to serving the community through his work.

So what can we expect in the future?

Prince Harry will continue to use his platform in order to make the world a better place.

Welcome to a new era of uncharted success.
