Royal Interference: What Is Going On With People Magazine?
Have you noticed a change in People Magazine’s royal coverage?
Over the past few years, it seems People Magazine has been promoting the British royal family to an increased degree.
Strangely, the timeline for the shift occurred when British journalist Dan Wakeford was named editor in chief of People magazine in 2019.
But why is this important?
According to Agility PR Solutions (Updated July 2021), out of the top 10 magazines in the USA, People Magazine is number 7. The list is based on the largest daily US magazines in order of circulation.
Also, as of today, People Magazine’s Twitter account 7.6M Followers.
But what is happening?
Thanks to eagle eyed Twitter user @Eviethats, it has been pointed out that the People Magazine Twitter account has been deleting articles about Meghan Markle during her time as a senior working royal in the British royal family.
If you look at People Magazine’s Twitter page, you will see the links to old articles from 2018, 2019, 2020 have been deleted. But 2021 articles are still online for now.
But why is People Magazine doing this?
One theory: Buckingham Palace is having People Magazine delete positive Meghan Markle stories.
In exchange, Buckingham Palace will provide People Magazine exclusive royal stories.
It would explain why People Magazine deleted their Bot Sentinel story called “Meghan Markle Troll Accounts Have ‘Monetized Hatred’ and Circulated ‘Conspiracy Theories,’ Report Finds.”
Luckily it was archived.
But we may never know the answer to this question.
